James 2:14, 20
“What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? Can faith save him?
But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?”
Thank You, Holy Spirit.
Having studied Chemical and Polymer Engineering in a University where
there are other arms of engineering such as the Mechanical and
Electrical/Computer, I know that having only the theoretical knowledge
of these courses without backing it up with a practical knowledge only
makes them of no effect; literally useless.
What gives more sense to the theorems being taught in the lecture hall is its practice in the laboratories. James 2:18
“Theory” is a substance; its practice brings it to life.
“Faith” is a substance; its practice (workings) brings it to life. Little wonder James said in James 2:17 that “Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.”
“Faith” in this context can be likened to “theorems” while “Work” can be likened to “practical”.
Friends, if you have not been working out your Faith (practicing your theorems), I’ll advise you start doing so now.
Revelation 3:20
“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man
hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup
with him, and he with me.”
Don’t be asking GOD to help you without you wanting to be helped. He
is knocking on the door of your heart, are you opening that door for Him
to come in? Or are you sitting there waiting for Him to barge in
(thinking, “He is GOD He knows His way in, I don’t have to open before
He enters”).
“Communication” (Prayer) is a two-way thing, you’ll agree with me. I
don’t see why you can’t open the door for Jesus to enter when He is
opening His door for you to enter → Matthew 7:7.
Your faith enabled you hear that knock; it’s now left to you to add
the work of “opening the door for Him to come in” to your faith.
Still reveling in your addictions and earnestly waiting for His help?
His help has already been given to you; all you need do now is make a
conscious effort at conquering that addiction by total avoidance of it
and stubbornly taking your stand not to indulge when the need pops up
again and again. And then, you’ll experience everlasting victory because
He will be with you all the way, helping you overcome. John 16:33, Hebrews 11:6.
Galatians 6
4 But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.
5 For every man shall bear his own burden.
6 Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things.
7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap
corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap
life everlasting.
